MISSION

To share the love of Jesus by restoring hope through practical acts of service, meaningful relationships, and compassionate outreach. We exist to serve children and our community by helping meet tangible needs, encouraging healthy hearts and minds, and reminding every person they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.

VISION

We envision communities where every child knows their God-given worth, every home is filled with hope, and every person is encouraged to grow in faith, confidence, and purpose through the love of Jesus. Our prayer is to see lives restored, communities strengthened, and future generations inspired to live with compassion, serve others, and share His love.

ABOUT US

Brave Harbor Ministries was born from a shared desire to serve others and reflect the love of Jesus in practical ways. It all began with Rylee Char's desire to serve children and families. Rylee, a 22-year-old graduate of Grand Canyon University, founded Brave Harbor Ministries with the hope of meeting tangible needs while helping people discover the hope found in Christ.

While volunteering with a Christian organization, Rylee met Anna Sentell, a 20-year-old student at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa who is completing the final year of her undergraduate degree. As they got to know one another, they quickly realized they shared a heart for serving others, working with children, and making a difference in their community. What started as conversations about organizing a children's sports camp naturally grew into talking about all the other ways they hoped to serve their community. One conversation led to another, one idea led to the next, and before long, Brave Harbor Ministries began to take shape—a ministry built on the belief that even the simplest act of kindness can restore hope.

The name Brave Harbor reflects the heart behind everything we do.

Brave reminds us that following Jesus takes courage—the courage to love others well, step out in faith, and serve with compassion, even when it's uncomfortable or uncertain.

Harbor represents a place of hope, refuge, and restoration. Just as a harbor offers shelter during life's storms, we hope to be a place where people feel welcomed, valued, encouraged, and reminded that they are never alone.

We believe hope often begins with simple acts of kindness. Sometimes that looks like hosting a sports camp. Other times it means helping turn a house into a home, providing furniture, serving our community, or simply showing up for someone who needs encouragement. Whatever the opportunity, our desire is to come alongside others in meaningful ways and remind them they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.

Brave Harbor Ministries is still just the beginning of the story God is writing. As we continue to grow, our prayer is that every person we meet experiences hope, discovers their God-given worth, and comes to know Jesus through the relationships we build and the way we live out our faith.
